WHY BALLOT MATTERS

MAKE IT CHEAPER
A dirty secret of our two-party system is they ballot to double or triple the costs of many campaigns, pricing out competition.
Our goal is to make ballots affordable or free across every neighborhood, city, county, and state in America, including federal races.
With over 30,000 local and state races, this could save billions easily.
*In 2024, hundreds of millions were spent on independent ballot access for a handful of presidential candidates alone.
Taking up 80-90% of the budget as the single biggest cost. It would make a profound change to all independents to ease this cost.

MAKE IT EASIER
Independents face an unfair challenge: they must run for office while also managing a ballot operation, unlike Republicans and Democrats, who only focus on campaigning.
This means independents must double their organizing and get trained in highly specific state-by-state ballot signature collection. Which is designed to be highly technical to increase the chances signatures get thrown out.
*Ballot industry secret: usually 50 percent of signatures in all states get thrown out.
This means repeated signature campaigns taking months being repeated last minute. With ballot access, WTP can halve time and effort for our candidates.

LEGAL BARRIERS
The worst barrier is lawfare. Today it is super common to have signatures thrown out using shady legal means. Saying good signatures are bad, changing the forms in a last-minute meeting the day they are due to the Secretary of State.
Having the Secretary of State, Democrat or Republican party, sue in each state. Change the laws for ballots, change the laws for candidates, etc.
The weakness is a party. If you nominate, you don't need signatures or a 4-6 week window for legal challenges. You simply are nominated.
WTP can greatly reduce legal attacks by nominating candidates in challenging states, counties, or cities.
